Paulo Almirante
Biography
Paulo Almirante was appointed an Executive Vice President of ENGIE in 2016, and Chief Operating Officer in 2018. He supervises the Brazil, NECST (Northern, Southern and Eastern Europe) and MESCAT (Middle East, South and Central Asia and Turkey) Business Units.
Within the ENGIE Group, Paolo was President of Energy Europe Portugal and CEO of Trustenergy from 2013 to 2016. In 2005, he joined International Power (acquired by Engie in 2011) as Regional Director for Iberia.
Paulo has spent most of his career in the energy sector. He was responsible for the development, construction and operation of power generation facilities for Energias de Portugal EDP in Portugal and National Power in the United Kingdom.
Paulo holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon and a diploma in Management Studies from the Catholic University of Lisbon. He has also studied Global Leadership Development at the London Business School.
Paulo Almirante is a founder and Vice President of the Portuguese Association of the Electricity Industry and a member of the Advisory Committee of the Portuguese Energy Regulator (ERSE).
